We all knew it was coming and a few ‘lesser’ manufacturers have been spouting off about what they are going to do in the future but Sharp has wasted not time in bringing out the first HDTV

with integrated blu-ray. The Sharp AQUOS DX Series.

The 37″ and upwards (up to 52″) models come with full HD, 1080p with the smaller sets making do with 768p.

Due out in Japan next month, the Sharp AQUOS DX Series will definitly be at the foreforent of a new trend. Televisions capable of displaying Blu-Ray movies without the need for any external peripherals.

Depending on screen size, the Sharp AQUOS DX Series will retail from around ¥200,000 ($1,963) to ¥500,000 ($4,909). No word as yet on any internal storage or wifi connectivty (which should come as standard in my book).

The rest of the world will have to wait to get our hands on the Sharp AQUOS DX (unless you know a friendly importer ^^) but keep your eye out for more HD Televisions with integrated Blu-Ray, I get the feeling they are going to be coming thick and fast….
