The Fujitsu FLEPia Color E-Book is the first of its kind and it has been a long time coming. First announced in 2007, its taken two years to get to market and as electronic ebook reader’s go, given the price-tag, it won’t give the kindle 2
a run for its money. On the other hand, being the only color ebook reader on the market will definitely help it shift a few copies.
Only available in Japan for now, the Fujitsu FLEPia Color E-Book is capable of displaying 260k colors courtesy of an 8-inch XGA touchscreen. It also comes with various connectivity including Bluetooth and Wifi. You can ramp up the storage via its SD card slot that can hold up to 4GB.
The Japanese version also comes with Windows CE 5.0 which we can’t tell if that’s a plus or a minus given the ultra slow screen refresh time of e-ink.
The Fujitsu FLEPia Color E-Book will be available in Japan from April 20th for a whopping 99,750 Yen ($1,010).
