The Intel Core i7 bandwagon just picked up another passenger in the form of the Acer Aspire M77220 desktop pc. Acer, following briskly in the footsteps of the ASUS ROG CG6190
amongst others, have announced the released of their latest high-end gaming PC offering which will be available come the end of November.
Scheduled initially for a Taiwan release (they get all the best stuff), the Acer Aspire M7720 is packed with an Intel Core i7 (as the name suggests), an Intel X58 + ICH10R chipset, up to 12GB DDR 1066 memory and a 750GB hard-drive (you would have hoped that they would have at least differentiated themselves from all the other Core i7 PC’s with a solid state drive
but I guess that’s asking too much when there’s a credit crunch on).
The Acer Aspire M7720 graphics are handled by the moderately impressive 1GB DDR3 ATI Radeon HD 4850 and at around $1200 for the lot, it’s not bad for the price although they could have spent a little more time giving the case some more oomph (what is it with red and black these days? Every gaming PC
looks like a clone of the last).
No details on when the Acer Aspire M7720 Intel Core i7 PC will be available on other shores but given the way gaming PC’s fly off the shelf in Europe and the US, we’re guessing that it won’t be long.
