The Alienware M17X gaming laptop has been released a few days early. Well, the information and the sexy pictures have. Coming with not one but two 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280M GPUs, Core 2 Extreme quad-core CPU and up to 8GB of 1333MHz DDR3 memory, the Alienware M17X gaming laptop is yet another force to be reckoned with (along with Dell’s 24GB beast – Studio XPS 435

).

Add to the aforementioned goodies is 1TB of 7200-rpm disk or a 512GB SSD depending on your chosen set-up. You also get a nine-cell battery (performance unknown), FireWire, 4x USB, eSATA, ExpressCard, 802.11n WiFi, 8-in-1 media card reader, dual-layer Blu-ray, a 1920 x 1200 pixel edge-to-edge LCD, DisplayPort and HDMI-outs all encased up in a sizeable (and good-looking) exterior weighing in at 11.68-pounds with a 15.98 x 12.65 x 2.11-inch footprint.

Oh, and did we mentioned that the Alienware M17X gaming laptop is also rolling with a GeForce 9400M G1 GPU with HybridPower technology that allows you to switch to the scale the graphics back to conserve battery power?

Of course, the base model of the Alienware M17X gaming laptop won’t come with the full spectrum of good we listed above but it will still set you back $1,799 just to look your way.
