We heard about the Sony X-Series
a while back but now everything is official baby and we’ve got pics of the first batch of the x-series Walkman, the Sony NW-X1000 series. The Japanese are getting theirs first but it shouldn’t be long before the U.S. and Europe have their own editions of the Sony NW-X1000 series Walkman to play with.
There are currently two versions of the Sony NW-X1000 coming out, the NW-X1050 with 16GB internal memory and the 32GB NW-X1060, both available in red and black. The 32 GB Sony NW-X1060 will set Japanese buyers back $500, only $100 more than the $400 NW-X1050 but with twice the memory.
Sony NW-X1000 tech specs include a 3-inch OLED touchscreen (240×432 resolution), WiFi (IEEE 802.11b/g), YouTube support, noise cancellation function and a One-Seg digital TV tuner that can only be used in Japan and Brazil. Supported audio files include MP3/HE-AAC/AAC/WMA/linear PCM/ATRAC/ATRAC Advanced Lossless and supported video include MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 and MPEG-4/WMV formats.
