Black Stealth 3-channel mini chopper

Remote control helicopters and choppers are great but annoyingly (or if your good at it, smugly) difficult to handle. This Black Stealth 3-channel mini chopper by ThinkGeek claims to break the mould by making it surprisingly easy to handle forward motion thanks to it’s extra channel (most RC choppers, like the Picoo Z Insecta have only 2-channels).

At $30 the Black Stealth 3-channel mini chopper is also one of the cheapest on the market and for the price, it ain’t half bad. The ‘Black Stealth‘ element is down to its nifty paint job and looking at the pictures and the video below, GadgetHeat has got to admit that it looks pretty bad-ass if you know how to handle your R/C helicopters….

Robotic Crabs - Hex Bug Buggin Out

Tags: , , ,

Bandai, known for, well, being crazy mainly, have released another addition to their Hex Bug range - the Robotic Crab. You may ask the question (just as GadgetHeat did) as to why you would want a robotic crab as a pet and the answer is - why not?
.
With the success of the other creepy crawlies in the Hex Bug series and also remote control gadgets such as the Picoo Z Insecta, it looks like the market for toys to scare your little sister with is booming.
.
The robotic crab Hex Bug can hide in dark areas just like a real crab (fun) thanks to embedded light sensors and can even move sideways, er, just like a real crab. OK we’re struggling with this one because we just can’t see how many hours of fun you can get from a toy crab. Sorry Bandai, we tried. We failed. Next.
.
If you really have some sort of crustacean fetish you can pick up the Bandai Robotic Crab Hex Bug from out Japanese friends come August 9th for about $25. You can also watch the promo video found here.

Picoo Z - Insecta Gadget

picoo-z-insecta

You must already know that we love flying RC helicopters and GadgetHeat did a review on the whole Picoo Z vs. DragonFly debate last year sometime. We’re happy to say that Picoo Z have again upped the ante by releasing the Picoo Z Insecta (and your fly swat just won’t cut it when it come to bringing these flying machines down).

The Picoo Z Insecta RC helicopter is freaking awesome to use and can be flown to a range about 30 feet away. You’re going to have that thing buzzing around your home like a mosqito on steroids. The only down side is that flight time from the Lithium Polymer battery is only 10 minutes then you’re going to have to spend up to half-an-hour charging it.

On the plus side, the Insecta comes in three different colours and you can have three of these bad-boys flying around at the same time, giving you your own personal swarm (think Africanized Killer Bees but in blue green and yellow). You can pick them up for around $45-$60 (£20 - £30)

Check out the video below to see the Picoo Z Insecta RC helicopter in action.

Radio Controlled Picoo Z versusFlyTech Dragonfly

It’s tricky when you want to electronic toys that lasts, batteries are always a problem I find…barring that very slight obstacle two of the more entertaining toys out there are the Picoo Z radio controlled helicopter and the FlyTech Dragonfly, both of which are remote control helicopters and look set to become hot sellers this year.
