Ever felt like having light beam from your fingers? Your superhero dreams can now be fulfilled with this concept white LED Light Glove torch .
Slovenian designer Tilen Sepic has crafted the LED light glove so at to emit LED light from the finger of the glove when you point at an object. Made to avoid the shadows cast by traditional torches, the white LED light glove keeps shadows to a minimum by casting the light through optical fibres running along the finger of the glove.
Slip the white LED light glove on your wrist and you’ll feel like Spiderman. It even has an attached battery back around the wrist so you can keep annoying people on hours on end with your magic finger….

Mind changing gadgets are a dangerous thing and when Hannes Seeberg came up with this concept Nike FeelFree Headset, you have to wonder what he has on his mind. Why Nike for a start. The only thing they know about headphones is making sure there’s enough space on it for the tick (then again, Nike will brand anything these days, even a Nike Burger….).
The headset is designed to help fight depression and induce a state of relaxation that the average nine-to-fiver never seems to fully experience. The headphones have four wave-profiles including Meditation, Focus, Learn and Sleep; each one using EEG Binaural beats (google it) to produce the desired effect on the brain, distancing the user from stress and tension.
The touted benefits of the Nike FeelFree Headset include improving mental and emotional health as well as increasing learning ability and creativity.
Whilst all this sounds well and good, having a gadget fiddle with my mental state brings up warning signs. It only takes one mad-modder to create new settings such as ‘Paranoia’, ‘Panic’ or ‘Submission’ for the headset to become a more interesting gadget (not that I’m giving anyone ideas….).
The Nike FeelFree Headset concept is not in production, whether it will ever make it out of Hannes Seeberg’s design house depends on how badly Nike want world domination and we all know that they want it real bad…..

Designers can go crazy with concepts, after all, it’s just a concept, but the Box To Play cell phone by Japanese outfit KDDI AU is not so much crazy as crazy cool.
The cell phone concept transforms at the touch of a button into a music box speaker that pumps your tunes whilst displaying a graphic interface, much like the graphics you see on an equalizer display.
The Box To Play comes with all the usual features of a cell phone plus additional touches such as a turntable (yes folks, a mini-turntable on your cell phone) that allows you to scratch your tunes as you play.
Whether the KDDI AU ’s Box To Play concept phone is too far fetched to become a reality who knows, but after all the concept phones GadgetHeat has seen from the Siemens Leaf to the cell phone projector, one of then has to make it eventually, don’t they?

Whenever I come across headphones such as the Plywood Headphones by David Burel the ubiquitous Scandinavian design house Ikea pops to mind. Maybe its the smooth wooden curves but I suddenly start thinking flat packs and meatballs. Usually I much prefer more tradition chrome, even if the style is as funky as the wireless SONY Ericsson headphones.
At a hefty €250 each, these are definitely not your bog standard, headphones as each one is custom made to your requirements (some people have bigger heads then others you see…).
Not the most portable but if you ever have a need for wearing headphones at home whilst looking ultra-modern, your need has just been fulfilled by these Plywood Headphones by David Burel.

As far as desktop PC concepts go, the Deep home computer isn’t so much revolutionary as it likes to think it is. Home PC designs are pretty way out there these days such as the Bridge PC and the B-Membrane PC but to give it its due props, the Deep home computer does look reasonably stylish if your not into having a standard desktop PC cluttering up your living space.
Designed by Ben Collette the concept PC curves the CPU in such as was as to hide the screen when not in use and also make itself fairly portable if you should wish to move the Deep home computer into another room.
Despite its untraditional shape the Deep home computer does all the usual you would expect from a PC making this one concept that hasn’t fallen too far from the traditional design tree. Ben Collette may also want to consider updating his website….

Creative just can’t stop releasing media players and hot on the heels of the recent Creative Zen X-Fi, have just launched the Creative Zen Mozaic, a snazzily designed portable media player (yes the spelling of Mozaic is how Creative have spelled it, not just my spell-checker playing up). Although the Mozaic PMP allows video playback, the 1.8inch screen suggests that this media player is more music and MP3 than video oriented.
.
Creative have used a, shall we say ‘different’ looking design for the Mozaic, hence it’s name and it looks like their design team decided to go out on a limb with this one. The design is a blended mosaic pattern for the keypad and the Zen Mozaic also comes in a range of different colours (pink being GadgetHeat’s favourite of course).
.
Feature wise the Creative Zen Mozaic boasts a battery tipped to last 30 hours on a single charge, the pre-requisite FM radio, voice recorder and an inbuilt speaker when you decided to share your musical taste with others whether they like it or not.
.
Expected to cost from £50 for the 2GB version, £60 for the 4GB, £80 for 8GB and a yet unknown price for the 16GB Creative Zen Mozaic media player due to be released later this summer.

When it comes to cars, Porsche is one of the kings of the road (well in suburbs where you can safely show-off without getting car-jacked) and now they have turned their attention (and brand name) to the audio market with the release of the new P’9120 Porsche Design Eton Stereo system with separate iPod dock (I thought that Eton was a posh boys school in England?).
.
The P’9120 Porsche Design Eton Stereo system is rather striking to look at and the stereo design gives a hint as to the power that lies beneath which is what GadgetHeat would expect from all things Porsche. Three speakers on the aluminium outside (flashy) hide a sub-woofer underneath to give you bumping bass just when you need it.
.
The P’9120 also comes with AM/FM radio as well as DAB. The OLED display on the stereo is stylish but small and the ‘different’ style of the remote control makes sure that you will never lose it and if you lose anything else, the remote control can help you find it as it comes with a torch (yay Porsche for thinking about things that we don’t really need but are cool to have anyway). The iPod dock is nothing spectacular and if you are in the market for a dock, you may want to check out this wooden iPod Dock or the Twin Ipod and iPhone dock.
.
The tech specifications state something about double wall construction for ‘superior acoustics‘ which just means to us that this is what they are using to justify the $900+ price tag attached to the P’9120 Porsche Design Eton Stereo system (boo Porsche for making us pay way over the odds for your brand name).

With it’s distinctive retro styling, the m21 Flat TV Console by Joe Wilkerson is a definite blast from the early 80’s (or even 70’s) but with a decidedly modern twist as it has an embedded flat-panel screen. I don’t know about the rest of you out there but when we at GadgetHeat were kids, televisions sure didn’t look like the Wilkinson Flat Panel m21 Console. My TV was about half the size of the house and you actually had to get up out of your seat to change the channel (hard times).
The m21console is made almost entirely of walnut hardwood and nests a 42″ Plasma screen (no information on whether or not it is HD yet). Below the screen section is space designed to hold a centre speaker and the section is made out of Fender amp screen material.

Wilkerson Flat Panel m21 Console looks to be just a test product at the moment to gauge market response and they have yet to confirm whether or not they will marketing the whole unit as a package or if the console and plasma screen are to be separated in the final product. GadgetHeat would strongly recommend that the display is shipped as a single unit as the effect it had at the Dwell on Design exhibition where it was on display suggests that the m21 Console would be a success when released.

We saw the Surf Chair on-line and just had to bring it to you. So far it just looks like a design concept but looking at the pictures it wouldn’t take much to bring it into production and I’m sure it would fly (or surf) off the shelves.
Designed by Kenneth Lylover (even the name of the designer is surfer-dude cool) and winner of the “Best Product” - Internet Collection. Scandinavian Furniture Fair 2000. Why this futuristic Surf Chair isn’t in Ikea yet I’ll never know…
