Make sure everything’s connected up, put the PS3 on standby then hold the power button for 5-10 seconds until you hear a bleep, it will revert to the AV output and should start working.

How do you get the PS3 to recognise your HDMI connection?

All you have to do is switch the Ps3 off so only the red standby button is showing, hold down the power button for 10 seconds or until you hear a second beep. The PlayStation 3 will now recognise which type of cable it is connected to. You now only have to nake sure that you are using your HD TV on the right channel. Some do not have a HD channel as such and you have to adjust your AV channel settings.
