The ION Nettop in a Vase is a cool case mod. We’ve seen some hot case mods over the years but the ION Nettop in a Vase takes the (posh) biscuit. The mod is part of Nvidia’s ION case mod competition aimed at creating the ultimate case mod based on ideas submitted by regular Joes (that’s you) and built by proffessional modders (probably not you but who knows).

A short while ago the LG BL42 Slider was outed as the new LG Chocolates entry level counter part. Looking a lot more like the original (old) LG Chocolate, the LG BL42 Slider comes with a fairly decent 3MB camera and a 240×320 (non-touch) display.

The Thanko Silent Keyboard EX is for those of us you who want to tap quietly at our keyboard without anybody looking at what we’re doing. This new version of Thanko’s Silent Keyboard is the EX edition meaning that it’s a whole 16.5 dB quieter than the old one which will be big news for all you ninja (and library) types.

The Wireless Tekken 6 joystick looks suspiciously similar to the madcatz SFIV Fightstick we saw a while back with one major difference – it’s wireless (hence the name, probably). The custom Tekken 6 paint jobby looks pretty slick and about $50 cheaper than the wired SFIV version.

Segways are for dorks. There, I said it. The GM and Segway P.U.M.A is for dorks with more money than the other dorks and less self-awareness. The oddly self-balancing ‘Personal Urban Mobility and Accessibility Project’ (P.U.M.A. – actually, shouldn’t it be PUMAP?) can reach a whizzy top speed of 35 mile per hour so get out the way fool, there’s a Facebook accountant coming through.

Of all the cool Star Wars spin-offs, the At-at was hardly the scariest walking tank IMHO (reminds me of a metal camel) but as an At-at Walker Boom Box, it’s definitely got cool points, Star Wars fan or no.

Someone, somewhere has got the hands on the latest Sidekick 2009 model for a hands on and we wish it was us. Although we don’t like the previous offerings of the Sidekick in principle, the Sidekick 2009 is looking tastier by the minute with just one draw back. No WiFi.

Android is picking up the pace after a slow start with the G1. Samsung looks set to enter the fray by the middle of next year with their own Android handset, thought to be based on the successful Omnia.

The sands of time are a fickle thing and now we find that the light of time isn’t much better either. The Hourglass Lantern Lamp by designer Young Bok Kim uses LED lights to gauge the passing of time, slowly lighting up one chamber of the lantern whilst the other fades, giving the classic hourglass effect.
