Another movie, another spin-off product and this time it’s the Nokia 5800 Star Trek edition handset. Even though we have a thing about companies trying to make a quick buck with spin-off merchandise, we have to admit that the Nokia 5800 Star Trek edition phone looks like a pretty cool package.

The Nokia 5800 Star Trek edition handset comes with geek specific modifications such as four special Star Trek animated screensavers, three Star Trek wallpapers and eight exclusive ringtones, including “Phazer Shot”, “Red Alert” and “Kelvin Communicator”.

The most interesting special feature of the Nokia 5800 Star Trek edition phone is the Phazer application although we’re not sure what it does exactly, we’re pretty sure it won’t be stunning anybody.

The Nokia 5800 Star Trek edition will be available in the UK first from May 1st for £25/month contract exclusively from Phones4U on Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile and O2. Available colors will be blue, red and black/silver.

We’re hedging our bets on whether the upcoming Transformers LG Versa will have the jump on the Nokia 5800 Star Trek edition Handset.
