The iRiver Speedo LZR Racer Aquabeat is a waterproof MP3 player which is more than just another novelty MP3 player, it actually does the business (sort of) too. All right, the 2gb of storage wont blow you away but you can relax with your favourite sounds when up to 3-Meters underwater, that’s got to be good for something right? Right?

The Speedo LZR Racer Aquabeat is also capable of 8 hours of continuous playback courtesy of its built-in rechargeable battery. Like the Apple Shuffle, the Speedo LZR Racer comes without any display (you couldn’t see it underwater anyway) and has basic audio controls such as play, stop, volume controls, and track controls.

Available in Japan from, er, now, the iRiver Speedo LZR Racer Aquabeat will retail for ¥12,800 ($128). No Stateside or European release has yet been announced.
