The Asus Eee PC 1004DN has something special about it (apparently). No, it’s not a netbook that actually has some power (that would be ridiculous, no?), it’s the fact that the Asus Eee PC 1004DN comes with an optical DVD drive.

What’s this? Is it any good we here you cry? Why yes, in fact it’s an Super-Multi DVD writer / burner (yes, slash burner). Apart from that the specs under the bonnet include a chiclet keyboard, 1.66GHz Atom N280 processor, up to 120GB of storage, and a fingerprint scanner. Battery life of the Asus Eee PC 1004DN is also touted at being a respectable 6 hours.

Alas, as is the norm with early press releases, price and release date are as yet a mystery but we expect the Asus Eee PC 1004DN to be heading our way within 6 months or so.
