The Sony Ericsson MS500 Bluetooth speaker is the latest in its outdoor speaker offering. With it being splash-proof, you can safely take it to the beach without fear of water damage (although we’re not vouching for its resistance to sand).

Capable of lasting up to 5 hours courtesy of two AA batteries, the Sony Ericsson MS500 Bluetooth speaker measures 113 x 83 x45 mm and is available in either black and orange or pink and white (obviously a slick boy / girl marketing spin). The unit also uses both Bluetooth A2DP and AVRCP with the former for streaming audio from a phone or PMP and the latter for remote control. The wireless range is at the 10m mark.

Audio output measures at a measly 2W although Sony Ericsson has packed in some DSP to give the audio a reasonable boost. No doubt available ‘soon’, pricing and availability of the Sony Ericsson MS500 Bluetooth speaker have yet to be revealed.
